Local Business Supports Breast Cancer Research
Santa Cruz and San Luis Obispo County, October 15, 2008 - Westside Beauty Supply, Inc donated over $900 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The donation was a result of a "Pink Sale" in all Westside Beauty Supply locations on October 4, where specialty items from vendors and "anything pink" was discounted 20%.
"Women of all ages make up a huge majority of our customers base," says co-owner Patrick Bingham. "We are very interested in issues that affect our customers and their families."
The Susan G. Komen Foundation is the largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists in the world. Started in 1982 in memory of Susan Komen, the foundation has invested over $1 billion into breast cancer research.
